Summary:This article investigates on a stub-based wideband monopole antenna inteded for RFID reader and other wireless applications. The planar antenna comprises of two components such as the stub-based radiator fed by microstrip inset feeding and a partial ground plane. The suggested design occupies an operational -10 dB bandwidth in the two different frequency range of 3.27-3.42 GHz and 3.55-6.60 GHz. The simulated realized gain is 2.55 dBi in the operating bands. The structure is linearly polarized and has an overall dimension of 0.33λ × 0.22λ×0.014λ (λ represents the wavelength at 3.33 GHz). The proposed design can be suitable for RFID reader and wireless applications.
