Summary:The proportion of distributed energy resources (e.g., wind power and photovoltaic) is increasing in the power systems, which makes the power supply cleaner and more economical. At the same time, the island region becomes a key development area with rich wind resources and marine renewable energy. The scale of cable laying is also greatly increased. The loss reduction of the distribution network in the island region is receiving more attention. Based on the equipment selection of transformers and submarine cables, the corresponding network loss model is constructed, and the corresponding technology loss reduction strategy is studied based on the whole life-cycle cost model in this paper. An example is presented to verify that the proposed transformer and cable selection strategy has great effects on loss reduction and improving economic benefits.
