Summary:In this study, five different methods from the literature, comprising both graphical and analytical methods, are used to determine the series resistance of ten different polycrystalline PV modules from three different manufacturers. The objective of this study is to understand how the different methods perform in terms of series resistance values. It is seen that graphical methods generate lower resistance values than analytical methods. However, all of the methods give a comparable pattern for the series resistances for the various modules. It represents that all methods are adequate for the comparative evaluation of polycrystalline-type modules. The third graphical technique, a comparison of the ideal and the series resistance-dependent non-ideal I-V curve, is preferred because it is easier to perform and provides resistance values from the maximum power point region of the I-V curve..
