Summary: | Since its introduction, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Embedded system has advanced significantly. To create a safe IoT solution, the standardization process in IoT systems is still in its infancy. Researchers have provided a large number of high-quality review publications on the frameworks, architectures, and dangers of IoT at various tiers. However, the majority of the current research ignores how important firmware security is to the IoT ecosystem. Firmware is a crucial component of an electronic system. Firmware is a sort of software that communicates with the hardware in any device. The highest level of privilege on any system is at the firmware level. IoT firmware security, however, is very different. Most of an IoT device's software is either high-level or low-level firmware. Therefore, the total hij acking of the device frequently results from the successful penetration of any piece of firmware. This paper reviewed and summarized some firmware vulnerabilities and some of the embedded system vulnerability detection technology. Based on the review at the end we proposed a combination of static and dynamic analysis methods to detect Authentication Bypass Firmware Vulnerability in IoT and Embedded systems. |
