Summary: | In recent years, there has been a rapid increase in the adoption of drones to perform various activities including disaster relief, wildlife monitoring, deliveries and surveillance. Their widespread adoption comes primarily from their versatility and ease of use. For the same reasons, drones have also seen usage in illegal activities. From delivering narcotics and cell phones at prisons to illegal surveying, drones have seen all kinds of uses. It is essential that we have systems in place that monitor, investigate, and identify the illegal usage of drones. Drone forensics is a crucial part of said system. In this paper, we briefly discuss the background of drone forensics. Then, we review and compare two popular drone forensic tools, namely DatCon and CSVView. Finally, we briefly address how Machine Learning can be leveraged to aid drone forensics. |
