Summary:GIS/HGIS equipment, which is the main switching equipment of the power system, is widely used in 110kV and above voltage grade substations. Since the wide application of GIS/HGIS equipment, thus, its accident frequency remains high all the year round. This has caused huge economic losses to the operating units and has seriously affected the safe and stable operation of the power grid and the reliability of power supply. Thus, this paper studies the key technologies of the monitoring system applied to GIS/HGIS equipment opening/off. The angle sensor installed on the equipment transmission device will monitor that the travel exceeds the set threshold when the knife switch of the GIS/HGIS equipment is not in place. Then, the angle sensor will send an alarm message. Patrol inspectors can easily get the alarm information in a short time, so as to quickly handle the fault. The proposed monitoring system can effectively prevent the occurrence of power security incidents, and effectively manage the life of GIS/HGIS equipment.
