Summary:We propose a mechanically-controlled, onedimensional wide-angle beam-scanning antenna operating in the ka-band frequency range. Our antenna design is based on the folded transmitarray concept and offers a low-profile, high-gain solution for wide-angle beam-scanning applications. To improve the antenna's performance, we use the bifocal technique to compensate for phase variations, reducing gain loss within the scanning range. We simulated the antenna's performance using Ansys HFSS, which showed that it can scan within a range of ±28°, with a peak gain of 22.7 dBi and a maximum gain loss of 1.4 dB.
