Summary:One of the major constraints of using sensor networks in wireless medium is high power dissipation at the time of signal transmission and reception by the sensor nodes. This greatly reduces energy efficiency and overall effectiveness of the sensor network. Research have shown that reduction in payload as one of the most fruitful methods in reducing power dissipation. This paper familiarizes with compressive sensing paradigm in sensor network domain which can potentially reduce the number of sensor elements in the network, yet keeping the array aperture identical. Simulation results show that optimization in compressive sensing paradigm improves in lowering payload in sensor network system.
