Design of a 140 GHz Sheet Beam Traveling-Wave Tube with a Cuttoff Sever

Oscillation suppression is one of the most critical issues in the design of sheet beam traveling wave tubes (SBTWTs). This paper adopts a cuttoff sever with a matching step and a Bragg reflector in the interaction circuit, to suppress the oscillation of the sheet beam staggered double-vane (SDV) SBT...

Summary:Oscillation suppression is one of the most critical issues in the design of sheet beam traveling wave tubes (SBTWTs). This paper adopts a cuttoff sever with a matching step and a Bragg reflector in the interaction circuit, to suppress the oscillation of the sheet beam staggered double-vane (SDV) SBTWT. At the same time, this scheme avoids potential risks caused by the traditional dielectric attenuation. Simulation results show the feasibility of this scheme in the design of a SBTWT.
