Summary:This study addresses the issue of integrating electric vehicle charging infrastructure into urban distribution grids. A brief overview of the current state of the electric vehicle market in Russia as well as worldwide is presented. The main objective of this study is to justify the need for using intelligent management systems for electric vehicle charging as to improve energy efficiency of energy systems as well as to limit peak loads. A description of the research object and the main approaches to modeling is given, as well as the considered charging management algorithms is discussed. An assessment of the impact of the development of the electric transport industry on the energy system of a particular region is performed. The modeling of unbalanced steady-state in a 0.4 10 kV urban distribution grid is conducted to evaluate the implementation of different electric vehicle charging management algorithms. Conclusions are drawn regarding the effectiveness of the discussed management algorithms, and recommendations for their application are provided.
