Summary:The article discusses the issues of simulating road environmental conditions, which are carried out with the aim of organizing tests of unmanned vehicles. In particular, the article discusses the purposes for which it is necessary to conduct field tests of unmanned vehicles and, as a result, simulate the conditions in which these vehicles may find themselves. Examples of specific situations that can be simulated for testing unmanned vehicles are given. The paper also provides examples of how road environmental conditions can be modeled at different scales. Preparing highly automated vehicles for operation on public roads by conducting tests at specialized testing sites will allow testing the safety and reliability of highly automated vehicles both for the users themselves and for other road users.
