Summary: | The essential part of the propulsion system for electric vehicles is an electric motor. The proper selection of an electric motor and its control algorithm plays an essential role to get the required operational characteristics from the electric drive train. This paper discusses the study of a doubly-fed induction machine (DFIM) and its control for electric vehicle applications. The dynamic mathematical model of the DFIM, construction of the motor control system, and the vector control principle have been set up by adopting the idea of modules and block sets available in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The simulation results are used to check the reliability and performance analysis of the suggested scheme. |
