Summary:Based on the analysis of the temporal and spatial variation of NDVI in Yongding River mountain area, the influence of NDVI variation characters and its effect on the attenuation of natural runoff in Yongding River mountain area is analyzed by using the monitoring data such as NDVI and natural runoff. The results show that NDVI in Yongding River mountain area increased significantly from 1982 to 2015, and it presented a certain spatial heterogeneity. The natural runoff of the hydrological stations in YRMA also has a significant attenuation trend. Through Budyko hypothesis analysis, it is found that the variation of natural runoff is highly sensitive to NDVI change. As NDVI change being the prominent feature in the role of natural runoff attenuation, great attention should be paid to the impact of vegetation protection and soil and water conservation on the natural runoff attenuation in Yongding River mountain area.
