Summary:This paper presents a generalized model for an N-cell interleaved boost converter (iBC) by using state-space averaging technique. The steady-state and small-signal models of the converter have been developed including the discontinuity shown in the duty-cycle. The validation of the obtained model and a frequency domain analysis are also developed, as well as the ripple characteristic in converter input current is presented for a variation of the number of cells in parallel.
