Summary:In this paper, frequency multiplication techniques such as quadrupling, sextupling and decupling are implemented for the generation of 60GHz MM wave signal utilizing Dual parallel LN-Mach Zehnder modulator. The MM wave investigated is generated by suitably calculating the phase and amplitude of the RF input wave and biasing point of MZM. This avoids the need for 60 GHz source. The received RF power at the photodetector is -49dBm, -50dBm and -65dBm while using 15 GHz, 10 GHz and 6 GHz RF input respectively. The output of DP-MZM at the base station is modulated by NRZ data of rate 2. 5Gbps. The modulated signal is transmitted via an optical fiber of length 20 km. The transmission performance of the received signal at the output of the photodetector is studied.
