Summary: | As is the case with traditional software projects, there is an equal need to manage scope, time, cost and quality of e-commerce projects. In the later domain, the task is relatively difficult as most projects are often accompanied by significantly shorter durations and the need for incessant iterations. Open Source Project Management Software (OPMS) proffers a reliable and less expensive means by which E-commerce project management can be undertaken. Myriad OPMS options are available for scrutiny and eventual selection by E-commerce project managers. This paper is premised on the need to compare some of these options and come up with the tool mostly ideal for an e-commerce project. The comparison methodology focused on evaluation of functionality and maturity which was carried out using the Qualification and Selection of Open Source Software (QSOS) method. Of the software tested, OpenProject software emerged atop. |
