Summary:Industry 4.0 is one of the latest advancement to the human kind. Manufacturing and production using high end digital technologies are its main contributions. The tracking of assets in an industry is often considered as monotonous and tedious also expecting huge manpower and time. Ultra Wide Band Technology (UWB) has already been used in several ways for such purposes but not completely utilized and moreover several gaps such as Non Line of sight (NLOS) error mitigation and advancement of features such as 3D plotting of tag/asset coordinates are still to be investigated on. This paper proposes a system and software architecture for asset tracking for industries using Ultra Wide band Technology with Time difference of Arrival (TDoA) technology along with triangulation method and is a promising feature to fill up the above said gaps. It implements the plotting of tag coordinates in both 2D and 3D. The assets in an industry can be traced and monitored with the help of a mobile application in this proposed architecture. The accuracy and precision is expected to be better than the present available UWB systems using the proposed work.
