Summary:Vehicular networks are getting an important technology in the traffic system. VANET simply means the vehicles are connected or interlinked wirelessly to interchange information. By implementing the IDS in the VANETs we are able to control and mitigate the attacks, like Denial-of-Service attacks which can cause disturbances like the vehicles cannot communicate with each other and cannot share information about anything, which can lead to disturbance and problems. This can lead to a major accident between the vehicles, harming human life and can cause big damage. So, the IDS implementation in the VANET network can analyse the incoming traffic and outgoing traffic of the vehicles. It gives alerts if any malicious activity going on in the network so the proper steps can be taken and these attacks can be prevented and increase transportation safety and security. In this review paper, we reviewed papers related to the IDS implementation in the VANET area and provided a theoretical idea about how we can implement the IDS system so, the network can be secured and prevent any damage caused by any attack.
