Summary:The incorrect operations of the pilot scheme Permissive Overreaching Transfer Trip (POTT) with ground overcurrent element are evaluated in this paper. The practical experience of several in practice incorrect operations are gathered to list the associated reasons in setting relay steps. To improve the performance and ensure security of pilot scheme with ground directional overcurrent element, some measures and recommendations are presented regarding the used voltage polarization.
