Summary: | MEMS-based transdermal delivery systems, such as microneedle arrays, allow for a painless administration of fluids into the skin while ensuring a desired yield. There are several benefits to drug delivery via transdermal application, including better patient compliance, reduced fluctuations in plasma drug profiles, decreased gastric irritation, decreased enzyme deactivation, avoided first-pass hepatic metabolism, and elimination of the pre-systematic first-pass effect. Intellisuite was used to accomplish the analysis and simulation of the microneedle. |
