Summary: | This paper introduces a multi-purpose image processing system. The major components of the system are a vision chip that is dedicated to visual image processing, and a field-programmable gate array (FPGA), which handles all the inputs and outputs (IO) of the system. Using an FPGA, the system supports various IO protocols, on-line and offline work modes. Furthermore, using a vision chip for image processing, the system can obtain high performance up to 208 Giga Operations Per Second (GOPS) and high energy efficiency up to 194 Giga Operations Per Second Per Watt (GOPS/W) for image processing. |
