Summary:In this study, a photovoltaic (PV)-based pumping system with a complete water management procedure has been designed for irrigation purposes. The proposed design has been optimized considering the specific crop and its harvesting period in the Dinajpur district of Bangladesh. This technique is intended for rural areas that encounter difficulties irrigating crops during the dry season. The solar pumping system has been designed to provide the required irrigation water for one hectare of transplanted Aman rice. The proposed standalone PV system can produce up to 6.9 KW power during the day time which is capable enough to power up the 6750W DC submersible pump. The well-designed system can pump 250 thousand liters of water each day. This system ensures clean energy in the agriculture sector by concentrating on a method-based approach to resolve irrigation issues.
