Summary: | This paper presents a tool named TestIME 1 , which is used to evaluate chinese input method engines(IME) in the context of electronic medical record(EMR) entry. TestIME consists of four major functional modules: test tasks assignment, IME auto control, participants' behavior monitoring, and a questionare system. The fist module ensures that participants use different IMEs to complete the same test task in a random but not continuous order. The second is used to automatically control the IME, so participants can not change the experimental settings. The third moudle is the key point of TestIME, which record the participants' keystrokes and timestamp during typing. The last one is a questionare system used to collect the participants' subjective feelings.
