Summary:In the 5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, a new diagnostic category called social (pragmatic) communication disorder (SPCD) has been added (DSM-5). The goal of the review is to summarize and synthesize important information on social pragmatic language impairment and other previously used words associated with SPCD. This review also focuses on the technological interventions that are previously existing and supporting the special individuals to improve their style of communication and livelihood.
