Summary: | In this paper, combined with optical fiber sensing technology and composite insulator manufacturing technology, the optical fiber sensor is implanted into the insulator core rod in the process of pultrusion and extrusion, and the ultra-high voltage grade optical fiber composite insulator is developed. The temperature and tension of the optical fiber grating are calibrated in the laboratory, and optical Fiber Composite Insulators are connected to UHV Lines for Live Operation. The results show that the FBG sensor can reflect the changes of temperature and stress in UHV composite insulators in real time, and it can be used as a technical means to monitor the operation status of UHV composite insulators. |
