Summary:For linear discrete-time positive systems the paper proposes an approach reflecting structural system constraints and positiveness in solving the problem of reduced-order positive observer design. Common system parameter constraints are represented in the form of linear matrix inequalities, combined with observer \mathrm{H}_{\infty} norm bound, to guarantee the observer asymptotic stability. A numerical example is included to assess the feasibility of the proposed technique.
