ChemInform Abstract: Sr3Bi2(SeO3)6·H2O: A Novel Anionic Layer Consisting of Second-Order Jahn-Teller (SOJT) Distortive Cations

Single crystals of the title compound are grown by hydrothermal reaction of SrCO3, Bi2O3, and SeO2 in the molar ratio 3:5:6 (H2O, autoclave, 230 °C, 4 d; 77% yield).
