A new method for blending two parametric curves on the sphere

Two given curves can be blended to produce a new curve between the prescribed curves. Blending method provides a transition from one curve to another and can give different degrees of smoothness at the endpoints of the blends. Summary:Two given curves can be blended to produce a new curve between the prescribed curves. Blending method provides a transition from one curve to another and can give different degrees of smoothness at the endpoints of the blends. A new method of blending two parametric curves on the sphere is presented in this paper. First, we construct a space curve blending with the prescribed curves on the sphere by choosing appropriate polynomials function, then the final blending curves are obtained by projected onto the unit sphere along the radial direction. C1 and G1 curves blending formulas on the sphere are established, respectively. The performance of our proposed is validated in the experiments.
