Summary:Image denoising is an important task in image processing. Various filtering techniques has been developed for image denoising but the algorithms have specific limitations. The main feature of a good image denoising technique is that it will remove noise while preserving structure of image. In this paper, we present a new image denoising method based on averaging. The denoising performance is measured according to PSNR (Peak Signal-to-Nosie Ratio) metric by employing experiments. Experimental results show that the proposed method removes noise significantly and preserve image edges.
