Summary:The "ZeroWIN" project is an EC funded collaborative project that focus on developing and assessing new and innovative approaches and effective strategies for the reduction of resource usage and waste prevention in industry based on industrial symbiosis. The industrial symbiosis brings together traditionally separate companies and organisations from all business sectors with the aim of improving cross industry resource efficiency and sustainability, involving the physical exchange of materials, energy, water and/or by-products together with the shared use of assets, logistics and expertise. In the course of ZeroWIN the development of the ZeroWIN Production Model (ZWPM) based on industrial networking was one of the key actions. It provides a framework for the application of technologies, methodologies, strategies and system tools with the highest potential for zero waste entrepreneurship in industrial networks.
