Summary:The project "ZeroWIN - Towards Zero Waste in Industrial Networks" is funded by the EC under the 7th Framework Programme. The practical demonstrator "ReUse ICT Network" represents one of ten ZeroWIN case studies. ICT products contain high material value. Therefore ReUse-Computer has been drawn up as a "Value-Conservation Network" in 2001, aiming to promote re-use of ICT appliances after their first lifecycle. In ZeroWIN, the ReUse ICT Network is enhanced in order to maximize business opportunities based on a Resource Exchange Platform (RXP). By extending the lifetime of ICT equipment by around 100% and avoiding new production, significant reductions of fresh water use, waste generation and GHG emissions are achieved. Further, the ReUse ICT Network concept is expanded to other regions and industrial sectors to increase material exchange within Industrial Networks. The paper informs about the underlying concept, relevant activities and further steps of the case study.
