Capacity and blocking probability of the T1/E1 links in CDMA cellular networks

This paper presents exact results for the performance of T1/E1 links in code division multiple access (CDMA) networks. Performance is measured in terms of the delay and packet loss probability. The key contribution in this paper is a novel method to estimate the capacity of the T1/E1 links in a CDMA...

Summary:This paper presents exact results for the performance of T1/E1 links in code division multiple access (CDMA) networks. Performance is measured in terms of the delay and packet loss probability. The key contribution in this paper is a novel method to estimate the capacity of the T1/E1 links in a CDMA system by capturing the effect of all the system's parameters including voice activity behavior. Discrete event simulations are used since analysis of such systems leads to nonstandard and complex queueing models that are hard if not impossible to analyse. The performance of the reverse channel T1/E1 link is the subject of this paper.
