Summary: | Rapid and explosive progress of Web-based technologies makes developers hard to follow new ones, every time they come out. Web developers don't have enough time to understand so many up-to-date technologies and to enhance their productivity. To reduce development time in Web environments, as well as to increase efficiency, the authors defined a new XML-based language for Web developers. This language contains developer-friendly terminologies for DTD (document type definition). In addition, their concerns are focused on reducing network overload for Web servers and browsers. Using VBScript and JavaScript, they created an API (application programming interface) set, which can be accessed by other web pages. In order to test their DTD and API performance, a sample Web site was built that gets data from 20 database tables. In using their method, an approximate 70% page count reduction was evident, compared with other current Web development methods. |
