Summary:In the quest to detect target bio-chemical molecules in turbid waters using Love Wave (LW) acoustic sensor, we performed pilot experiments with 4-(Aminomethyl) Pyridine (4-AP), an organic compound, in Deionized (DI) water and Formazine based turbid solutions. This article reports the results of Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP) functionalized Love wave (LW) acoustic sensor response for the detection of various concentrations of 4-AP with a focus on electro-acoustic response mechanism in turbid liquids. The detection of a very small concentrations of 4-AP down to 10 −7 ppm, both in DI water and Formazine based turbid solutions was achieved.
