Summary: | Sleep Solutionz is a project for parents that has been designed, delivered and evaluated by parents. The project provides education, support and advice on young children's sleep. It was established through local Sure Start children's centres and with the support of a researcher from Durham University. The project has been part of a larger Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) CASE-funded PhD study in partnership with Sure Start children's centres in Stockton-on-Tees. This article has been written by parents to describe their experiences of participating in Sleep Solutionz, in the hope that it will be of interest to community practitioners. It reflects on establishing the group, sharing personal experiences, group ownership of the project, the benefits derived and recommendations for practitioners. |
