Dr. Thompson remained as an Associate Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center until 1950, at which time he was then appointed Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the at the New York UniversityBellevue Medical Center and the New York University Post-Graduate Medical School on August 1, 1950.
