Summary:Care for critical patients deserve great demand for professional support and attention, especially when it comes to a patient who is mechanically ventilated making use of enteral nutrition. Given the large number of patients in the ICU are in use VM, evidence describing the importance of training for nurses who are able to provide inherent monitoring of ventilatory parameters and alarms, mobilization, removal care secretions, heating and humidification of inhaled gases, as well as the control of the patient's hemodynamic conditions in order to minimize adverse effects. However, this care is redoubled when the patient is on enteral nutrition, where to watch the execution of the procedure, use of equipment, technical handling not to damage tissues and prevent infections. The completion of a procedure based on the best evidence makes care more patient-centered nursing and contributes to a reduction in complications. Os cuidados ao paciente critico merecem grande demanda de apoio profissional e atencao, principalmente quando se trata de um paciente que esta sob ventilacao mecanica fazendo uso de nutricao enteral. Tendo em vista o elevado numero de pacientes internados no CTI que estao em uso de VM, as evidencias descrevem a importancia da capacitacao dos enfermeiros para que estejam capacitados a prestar cuidados inerentes a monitorizacao dos parametros ventilatorios e dos alarmes, a mobilizacao, a remocao de secrecoes, ao aquecimento e a umidificacao dos gases inalados, bem como ao controle das condicoes hemodinamicas do paciente, visando a minimizar os efeitos adversos. No entanto, este cuidado e redobrado quando este paciente se encontra em nutricao enteral, onde se deve ter cuidado na execucao do procedimento, utilizacao do equipamento, tecnica no manuseio para nao lesionar tecidos e evitar infeccoes. A realizacao de um procedimento com base nas melhores evidencias torna o cuidado de enfermagem mais centrado no paciente e contribui para uma reducao das complicacoes.
