Summary:Even as academics continue to debate whether distance education techniques are successful, the market demands increased distance education programs and a growing number of corporations are using e-learning to train their employees. We propose and examine a model comparing outcomes in 3 different pedagogical classroom settings: traditional, distance education using an e-learning tool, and hybrid setting (face-to-face with an e-learning tool). Results indicate that students who use e-learning tools demonstrate better synthesis of learning. Implications for future studies and recommendations for how to improve management education using e-learning techniques are discussed.
