Summary:Introduction: In early 2020, the world was exposed to the COVID-19 pandemic, with social isolation being one of the preventive measures to control the spread of the disease. The pandemic and social isolation generated several implications in the usual routine of the population, among them, changes in eating habits. Objective: To evaluate the food consumption of university students during the period of social isolation and analyze its relationship with bodily and emotional perceptions. Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional research was carried out with 445 university students from Guarapuava-PR of both genders. Data collection took place through an online questionnaire, with social, emotional, food, body satisfaction, feelings and weekly food intake questions. Results: There was a prevalence of 81.2% females aged between 18 and 21 years. Comparing food consumption before and during the pandemic, significant changes in chocolate consumption were observed. Regarding feelings and body image, those who consumed more ultraprocessed foods were stressed, anxious, tired and dissatisfied with their bodies. On the other hand, those who were calm, willing and satisfied with their bodies, increased their consumption of fruits and vegetables. Conclusion: Food consumption had significant relationships with the emotions and body perception of university students analyzed during the period of social isolation. Key words: COVID-19. Introducao: No inicio do ano de 2020, o mundo foi exposto a pandemia de COVID-19, sendo o distanciamento social uma das medidas preventivas para controlar a disseminacao da doenca. A pandemia e o distanciamento social geraram diversas implicacoes na rotina habitual da populacao, dentre elas, modificacoes nos habitos alimentares. Objetivo: Avaliar o consumo alimentar de estudantes universitarios durante o periodo de distanciamento social e analisar a sua relacao com percepcoes corporais e emocionais. Materiais e Metodos: Pesquisa transversal realizada com 445 universitarios de Guarapuava-PR de ambos os sexos. A coleta de dados ocorreu atraves de questionario on-line, com questoes sociais, emocionais, alimentares, satisfacao com o corpo, sentimentos e ingestao semanal de alimentos. Resultados: Houve prevalencia do sexo feminino 81,2% e idade entre 18 e 21 anos. Comparando o consumo dos alimentos antes e durante a pandemia, foi observado alteracoes significantes no consumo de chocolates. Com relacao aos sentimentos e imagem corporal, quem consumia mais alimentos ultraprocessados apresentavam-se estressados, ansiosos, cansados e insatisfeitos com o corpo. Por outro lado, quem se apresentava tranquilo, disposto e satisfeito com o corpo, aumentou o consumo de frutas e verduras. Conclusao: O consumo alimentar teve relacoes significativas com as emocoes e percepcao corporal dos universitarios analisados durante o periodo de distanciamento social. Palavras-chave: COVID-19.
