Summary:To this day, the benefits of professional nursing organizations are enumerated on multiple schools of nursing benefits of professional nursing organization membership, including networking, exclusive education resources, mentorship, advancing your career, early access to latest evidence, and influence health care policy, as well as member discounts to association events, auto insurance, and recreation activities. What was also abundantly clear is that to improve health care systems globally, there need to be continued efforts to strengthen the influence of nursing, and initiatives should expand from individual efforts to mobilizing health care associations and organizations to have optimal impact. Imagine the power the nursing profession could harness to improve the health of communities in our care and for our individual nursing work environments if even half of the over 4 million registered nurses in the country joined an organization that aligns with their personal mission and specialty focus.
