Summary: | Management of perineural tumor extension of cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas in the head and neck depends on the location of the lesion, but it generally consists of resection and postoperative radiation therapy for apparently resectable disease, and definitive radiotherapy for incompletely resectable disease.8 Furthermore, concomitant chemotherapy can improve local control. Since patients with perineural tumor spread are also at high risk of spread to regional nodes, close monitoring with imaging and appropriate intervention are important.8 |
