CYNTHIA MCLEAN Web comment The Folly of the Iraq Invasion In all this cogent, elegant discourse by the author and commenting readers, I miss the slightest tone of regret and recognition of the great evil, the moral bankruptcy, crimes against humanity, illegal, unethical, and unconstitutional spree of slaughter and devastation that America has committed in its sanctimonious self-delusion. There's a funny essay when he was still young about the adult males in his family who lamented profoundly that they were too old to serve in the armed forces after the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor.
