Summary: | In an interview, Cecil R. Reynolds, professor, Neuroscience and Distinguished Research Scholar, talked about Reynolds Intellectual Assessment Scales (RIAS-2). Reynolds said tests of different types are revised for a variety of different reasons. Intelligence tests and achievement tests, of the various forms of psychological and educational testing, require the most frequent revision. Furthermore, the single most frequent request we received from users of the RIAS was to add a measure processing speed, but to add one in the context of the RIAS model, which to us meant having both verbal and nonverbal measures of processing speed and taking as much motor-dependence as possible from the tasks so as to reduce confounding with fine motor and related motor issues when measuring mental functions. |
