Summary: | Rh‐odin's masterpiece: Coupling N‐(rhodamine‐6G)lactam‐ethylenediamine to Fe3O4 nanoparticles through a polyethylene glycol chain renders the rhodamine unit more water soluble and useful for sensitive and selective detection of FeIII at the 2 ppb level in water. This sensitivity is also demonstrated in HeLa cells, thus indicating potential applications of this detection method in biological systems. |
