Effect of growth regulators on plant growth and seed yield of Matthiola incana, Brillant "Barbara"

The effect of soaking seeds for 24 hours or spraying plants at different growth stages with GA3 (50-200 mg/l), GA4+7 (50-200 mg/l), NAA (5-20 mg/l), paclobutrazol (50-200 mg/l), ethephon (250-1000 mg/l), triapenthenol (25-400 mg/l) or uniconazole (100-400 mg/l) on the germination, plant growth and s...

Summary:The effect of soaking seeds for 24 hours or spraying plants at different growth stages with GA3 (50-200 mg/l), GA4+7 (50-200 mg/l), NAA (5-20 mg/l), paclobutrazol (50-200 mg/l), ethephon (250-1000 mg/l), triapenthenol (25-400 mg/l) or uniconazole (100-400 mg/l) on the germination, plant growth and seed yield of Matthiola incana, Brillant "Barbara" was examined. Gibberellins improved the germination of seeds. The seedlings obtained from the seeds soaked in GA3, GA4+7, and NAA were taller and started to flower earlier than plants from the other treatments. Soaking seeds or spraying the plants with growth regulators did not influence the plant height at the harvest time, yield or quality of seeds
