Summary:The interaction mean free paths of projectile fragments with charges 2 ≤ Z ≤ 14 from 197Au-emulsion collisions at 10.7 A GeV are investigated. It is found that the interaction mean free path of helium projectile fragments is not dependent on the distance from their production point, helium projectile fragment multiplicities, target size, and type of interactions. The reduced mean free path of projectile fragments with charges 3 ≤ Z ≤ 14 is also independent of the distance from their production point. Within statistical uncertainties the experimental results do not show any significant anomalous effect.
