자료와 전략을 고려한 읽기 수업 모형 탐색－재외국민과 외국인 학습자를 중심으로

우리나라의 위상 제고와 한류에 영향을 받아 국내에 유학하고 있는 외국인 학습자들은 대학에서 논리적이고 창의적인 글쓰기를 요구받고 있지만, 실제 이들의 한계로 인해 학습과 글쓰기에서 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이런 이유에서 본 연구는 읽기 후 토론을 포함한 읽기 전략들을 활용한 수업이 실제 외국인 학습자들의 장기기억을 포함한 회상도와 글의 내용 전개 및 구조화에서 효과적이었음을 제시하고, 학습자들에게 실제적으로 필요한 읽기 자료와 읽기 전략을 포함한 수업모형을 제시하기 위해 두 가지 가정, 즉 유의미한 읽기 자료(텍스트)의 선택이 쓰기 전 학습자의 배경지식 활성화에 기여하는가와 텍스트를 처리하는 과정과 읽기 전략을 포함한 교수 활동이 글의 내용 생성과 짜임새 있는 글을 쓰는 데에 효과적인가 하는 가정을 토대로 ‘읽기 지도’는 무엇을 포함해야 하며, 어떠한 과정으로 이루어져야 하는가에 대해 구체적인 교수 방법 및 비교·분석 과정을 통해 제시해보고자 하였다. 지금까지의 관찰을 토대로 외국인과 재외국민 학생들에게 실제 대학에서 요구하는 다양한 학문 목적 글쓰기의 구조를 반영한 읽기 자료의 투입이 그들의 읽기 전략 개발과 더불어 그것을 자신의 지식으로 내면화하고, 그러한 지식을 글쓰기에 실제로 적용하는 데에 중요한 교육적 원천이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이와 함께, 본 연구는 재외국민과 외국인 학습자들을 대상으로 읽기 자료와 읽기 전략을 포함한 수업모형을 제시함으로써 다양한 읽기 교수법과 함께 읽기 과정을 개발하는 데에 기여할 수 있다. Foreign learner who is going to go to Korea due to the improvement of the international status of Korea and the Korean Wave is required to write logically and creatively in the university, but they are having difficulties in learning and writing for their limitations. For this reason, this study suggests that instruction using reading strategies, including discussion after reading, will become effective method in making contents of writings as well as reading recall to foreign learners. In consequently, this study is to present what kind of reading instruction model should be included and what kind of process should be done through concrete instruction based on the assumption that it is effective in generating the content of the writing. Based on the observations thus far, it is suggested that the input of reading materials that reflects the structure of various academic purpose writing should be internalized by their background knowledge along with their reading strategy, It can be an important educational resource to apply. In addition, it can contribute to development of reading process with various reading teaching methods by presenting a reading materials and reading strategy for overseas Koreans and foreign learners.
