Summary:In the present work hardness and elastic modulus of FeSex superconductor are reported. Two different groups of polycrystalline samples were produced by a conventional solid-state reaction. One group presented superconductor behavior with TC<8K while another showed semiconducting behavior. Hardness and elastic modulus were 1.3GPa and 42GPa, respectively, for both groups. Also, no cracking was produced by indentations. This does not exclude this material have low fracture toughness as observed in other intermetallic compounds.
