Summary:Dynamic methods for single cell dielectrophoresis are based on measuring the dielectrophoretic mobilities in electric fields of known intensity distribution. This paper briefly reviews our results for erythrocytes, protoplasts, lymphocytes, myeloma cells, hybridomas and chloroplasts at different frequencies, mediums conductivities and ion concentrations, obtained by a dynamic method, where a cylindrically symmetrical field is created between two concentric electrodes. It describes in more detail the latest new dynamic methods for measuring the whole dielectrophoretic spectrum of one and the same cell and presents experimental data for erythrocytes and protoplasts. The results can be used for elucidating the mechanisms of cell dielectrophoresis and in cell separation.
