Fuzzy Self-Tuning Interval Type-2 Control for the Egyptian Power System Load Frequency Controller

This paper deals with the design of Fuzzy Self-Tuning Type-1 (FSTT1), Fuzzy Self-Tuning Interval Type-2 (FSTIT2), and Optimum Proportional-Integral-Derivative (OPID) controllers under the influence of parameter uncertainties, noise, and external load disturbances. A comparative analysis between the...

Summary:This paper deals with the design of Fuzzy Self-Tuning Type-1 (FSTT1), Fuzzy Self-Tuning Interval Type-2 (FSTIT2), and Optimum Proportional-Integral-Derivative (OPID) controllers under the influence of parameter uncertainties, noise, and external load disturbances. A comparative analysis between the mentioned three controllers, as applied to the Egyptian Power System (EPS)-Load Frequency Control (LFC) is carried out. The simulation illustrated that the proposed Fuzzy Self-Tuning Interval Type-2 (FSTIT2) controller is superior compared to the other two.
